It was definitely a November to remember for the Bulldogs Foundation. Lets take a look back at some of the great events that went on over the course of this past month!
On November the 8th, Bulldogs players, Connor Walters, Ben Gleason, Ben Garagan and TJ Fergus were at Buffalo Wild Wings in Ancaster accompanied by our mascot Bruiser serving tables for the evening. It was an awesome way for fans and guests of Wild Wings to interact with the players and enjoy some amazing food. 10% of the sales from this event were graciously donated to the Bulldogs Foundation.
The following week marked the loudest day of the year in Hamilton as The Hamilton Bulldogs hosted their annual school day game. Over 10,000 students, teachers, partners and fans were in attendance at the FirstOntario Center to watch the Dogs defeat the Peterborough Petes that afternoon.
Prior to the game, the Bulldogs Foundation held a Thank You Breakfast for all of our Adopt-a-School partners. In attendance were representatives from all of the corporate partners and schools involved in the program. Also in attendance were members of the Public and Catholic School Boards, as well as members of the Bulldogs Foundation Board.
Everyone in attendance was very pleased to have 10 students from Hess Street School join them for breakfast and get the opportunity to eat with a few of our very own Bulldogs players.
After the breakfast and remarks from Hamilton Bulldogs Owner Michael Andlauer, and President and General Manager Steve Staios, everyone in attendance got the opportunity to go enjoy the game.
On November 22nd, Bulldogs duo Justin Lemcke and Jack Hanley visited the students of Ballard School to talk about Mental Health. It was one of a handful of school visits Bulldogs players have taken part in so far this year. Having the players visit schools that are apart of our Bulldog community is extremely important to them and us as an organization. We look forward to many more visits throughout the year.
Later that same week on November 25th, The Hamilton Bulldogs Foundation participated in selling 50/50 tickets at the 2017 Vanier Cup held at Tim Horton's Field, with a portion of the proceeds going towards our Breakfast Program. A sincere thank you goes out to the wonderful people from Arcelor Mittal for all their hard work in the selling of tickets that day. Because of efforts like yours, we can continue to feed a lot of kids!
Lastly, it was a tremendous month for memorabilia sales at our Foundation Booth located at Section 114 during all home games. Don't forget to swing by and check out some great gear and support an ever greater cause! Game worn and signed jerseys make the perfect Christmas gift for that hockey fan on your list!
